Howdy. My name is Michael.
I’m a designer with a broad range of capabilities and experience, a keen eye for detail and a wide view of the big picture. An eternal optimist, I always strive to create radical and relevant work, and am not afraid to lose a pitch or turn down a gig for the right reasons (shh—don’t tell accounting).
I’m happy doing pro-bono work for non-profits, fast-paced projects for startups, full-blown campaigns for Fortune 500 companies and everything in between. My experience spans over 8 years working at integrated design firms, ad agencies and freelancing for clients big and small. Variety—for me—truly is the Sriracha of life. My work has been recognized by the AIGA, DSVC and Under Consideration, and published in several brand identity books.
When not busy doing all of the above, I can be found enjoying and exploring San Francisco, laughing with my amazing friends and traveling as much as possible. If it’s something I’ve never done, you can bet your ass I plan on doing it—within relatively legal parameters, of course.
I’m a born and bred Texan—raised in the woods, creatively educated in the desert and mentored with design in the big city. Being immersed in a place with big attitudes and pride has influenced my work to be bold and unabashed.
I’m currently working with Yves Béhar and team at fuseproject, a place chock-full of inspiring, worldly talent. Thinking, UX, UI, visual design for mobile and web, branding and packaging are fun, daily challenges—it’s a very exciting time for us.
In my more immediate future—beyond work—I’m most excited about currently frame-off restoring and rebuilding my ’72 CB750, and an upcoming trip through Italy, Slovenia and Croatia with my special lady.
